First Place in Craft

Congratulations to Paul Sirofchuck, our resident furniture designer and craftsman at Main Exhibit Gallery. Paul received the First Place award in Craft last Saturday evening during ceremonies at The State Museum of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. Awards were presented to the winners of the "Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2011" exhibition, which showcases the talent, creativity and diversity of Pennsylvania's established and emerging artists.  Other first-, second- and third-place honors were awarded in painting, photography, sculpture, crafts and works on paper.

Paul's piece, a sculpted wood cabinet of walnut burl and curly maple, entitled "Hall's Rock", was selected from among 135 works of art from 133 finalists, who hail from 35 counties. This year’s juried exhibit received 1,933 entries from 727 artists. Paul was the only artist selected representing Westmoreland County.

Come to Main Exhibit to see many of his other fine works in wood.
